Much Excitement For a Few Minutes, Then Much of the Same

Darrell Beaupre
Since this is comment writing weekend, my write-up will be succinct.  We met Proctor at home during our Family Weekend.  The weather was a nice 55 degrees, and the sky was partly cloudy.

Fourteen minutes into the game, Proctor worked its way down the left side, sent a pass to an un-marked right striker and, with a shot to the post, they were up on top by one.  A minute later, we were inside their box and felled by a penalty.  Unfortunately, our Penalty Shot was saved.  However, after the keeper booted the ball, Carter Freund took a shot that was deflected.  Sebastian Keen, from well outside the box, received the defection and blasted a long drive that entered the top corner of the goal, and we were tied 1-1.

For the next sixty-five minutes, we went back and forth and both teams shot and missed the goal or the keeper saved the shot.  Kudos to Henry Steffen for some fine work in goal.

The afternoon ended (dare I say abruptly?) with a 1-1 tie.

We face off against CMS Wednesday afternoon at home and at 2:30.
