Big overtime draw

On a gorgeous night on the Holderness campus, the Cats took on the Bulls in an entertaining back and forth affair. There was a buzz in the air and the both teams were ready to play. KUA got on the attack early and pushed the pace. Keeping the ball in the attacking circle winning corners and finally making it count, Ainsley Lonczak put the ball past the goalie to give the Cats a 1-0 lead. There was lots of skill showed by both sides, leading to physical play in order to gain space on the field. Stella Kozak again stood tall when called upon, helping keep the Bulls off the board through the 1st half. As the second half started, both side were still going at top speed, and creating chances on both ends.  There were multiple crosses that didn't find the intended target but were dangerous and applied pressure to the D. Both midfields were causing turnovers and leading transitions, but open field was hard to find. Holderness continued to press and broke through with just under 5 minutes to play. KUA did not hang their heads. The girls rallied and almost broke the tie in the last few seconds of the game. At the horn, 1-1 was the score and 7v7 overtime loomed. In the overtime period, it was non stop action back and forth with both teams having opportunities, but the goalies came up big. The game ended in a tie, but KUA left everything on the field and played a great game.
The Cats take on Austin Prep tomorrow.
