New Hampton Tops KUA

Saturday afternoon's game started the same as Friday's affair. Both teams' defense and goalies held the offense at bay. Senior goaltender, Kobi Lees, had another strong day in goal making 13 saves. Freshman Kyle Murray-Smith scored with 6:43 remaining in the 2Q to put KUA up 1-0. New Hampton answered before halftime sending the teams to the locker room tied 1-1.

NHS extended the lead to 4-1 in the 3Q, before goals from Colter Lingelbach-Pierce and Anders Rantilla closed the gap to 4-3. Junior faceoff specialist, Andrew McCarthy helped KUA get possessions, winning 75% of his draws. Unlike the night before, the Huskies buckled down to stop the run. Breaking up two KUA clears resulting in goals. Kyle Murray-Smith and Benson Offit added goals late.
