KUA Controls Game, Blanks NMH

Veeti Kohvakka made 17 saves for the shutout and the Wildcats got three points each from Sullivan Mack (2 G, 1 A) and Tomas Mazura (3 A) to roll over Northfield-Mount Hermon School on Wednesday in Meriden. After a scoreless first period, Zach Whitehead put the Wildcats on the board when he finished a passing play from Mack and Mazura just 32 seconds into the second. Four minutes later, on the powerplay, Mazura took the puck behind the net and with the NMH goalie committed to the far side, passed back to Mack who buried into the empty net for a 2-0 lead. Sophomore defenseman Connor Chalmers scored on the rush to make it 3-0 halfway through the second and a minute later, on a 5-on-3 powerplay, Paul Dore tipped home a Teddy Griffin blast to make the score 4-0 after two periods. In the third, Mack and Donte Pierre both tallied on offensive face-off plays to round out the scoring. Griffin and Luca Fantilli each had two assists for KUA and the Wildcats had a 54-17 shot advantage on the night.
