Powerplay Propels Wildcats to Win in Opener

In the first game of the 2019-20 season, the Kimball Union Wildcats scored five powerplay goals on their way to a 7-1 victory over the host Stanstead College Spartans in Stanstead, Quebec. Senior Sullivan Mack scored late in the first off a feed from senior Tomas Mazura to give KUA the lead. In the second, the Wildcats scored four powerplay goals, one by Mack, one by senior Teddy Griffin, and one each by brothers Luca and Adam Fantilli. Adam Fantilli added another powerplay goal in the third and Mazura capped the KUA scoring with a rebound goal off a shot from senior Zach Whitehead. Stanstead spoiled the shutout bid of senior Veeti Kohvakka (27 saves) with just over a minute left. Mack (2 G, 2 A), Mazura, (1 G, 3 A), and Whitehead (4 A) each had four points for the Wildcats.
