After leading 4-0 at half, the Wildcats scored six unanswered goals to earn their first victory of the season.
The Wildcats got off to a slow start in their season opener. Will Kezerian opened the scoring 9:51 seconds in to the 1Q to give KUA a 1-0 lead heading into the second quarter. The Knights' defense was stout for the first 8 minutes of the second until Sam Erb dodged and dumped to Ethan Howell at the 7:25 mark. Howell and Andrew Robertello tallied a goal each to put KUA up 4-0 at half.
The KUA defense lead by Jordan Harris and goalie Chris Bassi played a great first half, but yielded a quick goal to start the 3Q of a KUA offensive miscue. The Wilcats finally hit their stride at the 6:08 mark in the 3Q and reeled off 6 unanswered goals. Sam Erb, Joe Citera and defenseman Hayes Huwiler helped push the lead to 10-1 with 4 minutes remaining the the 4Q. Back up goalie Connor Comeau played the last 4 minutes and made 2 great saves.
