KUA gets back on track with a convincing win over Vermont Academy today, 80-57.

The Wildcats put together their most complete game of the season tonight with a convincing win over AA rival Vermont Academy, 80-57.  Down early in the first quarter KUA scrapped back by halftime to go ahead 33-31.  Kamal Aubakirov’s two threes at the beginning of the second half pushed KUA lead to 7  and set the tone for the second half.  The Wildcats built their lead to ten-62-52 with 6 minutes left and then they went on an 18-5 run to finish out the game.  Kimball Union shot almost 50% from the field tonight, hitting 10 threes as well.  Nick Timberlake paced the Wildcats with 31 points tonight, his third game in a row with thirty or more points, and was joined in double figures by Enoch Cheeks with 17 points, and Kamal Aubakirov with 12. Will Engelhardt  and Eze Dike played well at both ends of the court tonight as Tyrone Victor sparked the crowd with his defensive presence in the second half.  KUA’s record now stands at 8-8 as they travel to play Wilbraham on Saturday.
