The JV field hockey team took on Proctor at home on the grass field on this cool, breezy and overcast afternoon day. Though the final score was 0-1, KUA showed moments of brilliance in the second half. Seana Perkins had five saves. In the first half, KUA had trouble keeping their sticks down and maintaining possession of the ball. However, in the second half KUA increased their communication. On defense, Kristen Richardson played aggressively and put forth strong block tackles. Anda Brown worked hard on both offense and defense to maintain possession of the ball, and likewise to pass to her teammates. Maggie Hicks took a rare penalty stroke. Though it did not go in, it was an amazing shot. Grace Bonner did a great job taking the ball down the width of the field and shooting as soon as she got into the offensive circle, which aided her teammates, Lucy Pike, Anda Brown and Natalie Paine to take many shots on net. KUA had five shots on net, most of which occurred in the last three minutes of the game, and made things extremely exciting. KUA will regroup and is excited to rematch Proctor on Wednesday.
