KUA Loses NHS Rematch

The JV Field Hockey team played their second match up against New Hampton on the freshly cut Smith Field grass on this cool fall day this past Saturday.  Although the final score was 0-3, KUA fought hard the whole game.  Our goalie, Seana Perkins, stopped 11 out of 14 shots in the first half.  The girls battled the entire game, but they were even more fearless in the second half only allowing one shot get to Seana during the second half.  Anda Brown, Sunny Sun, Gabby Pais, Maggie Hicks, and Kristen Richardson battled in the defensive circle to help Seana clear balls wide away from the net.  Reagan Schaffer had great opportunities to finish, as she dragged the goalie side to side, but just couldn’t get the perfect shot off.  Natalie Paine and Dorodia Huang were aggressive midfielders throughout the whole game.  Caitlin Doyle, Grace Bonner, and Lucy Pike got better and better at using each other to move the ball up the field as the game continued.  Maggie Hicks took two of KUA’s three shoots, and went end-to-end countless times trying to set up her teammates for goals, but New Hampton did an impressive job covering our forwards in their circle.  Lucy Pike had KUA’s third shot.  KUA continues to fight hard and play more as a team every game, and they are excited to take on Northfield Mount Hermon School on Wednesday.
