Proctor Ends Playoff Push for Wildcats

KUA found themselves down 15-2 in the early goings of today's NEPSAC semi-final game versus a hungry Proctor Academy squad.  Taylor Soule '18 then put the team on her back and scored the next 15 points to pull the Wildcats to within 4.  Kate Fowler hit the front end of a 1-and-1 to close out the half down 18-21.

After knocking down 10 three-pointers in the quarter-final round of the NEPSAC tournament, the Wildcats managed just three today - all coming late in the second half.  Christina Ryan hit a huge trey to cut the deficit to two points with little time left on the clock.  KUA was forced to foul to get the ball back, and Proctor's #24 coolly sank two free throws to put the game out of reach.

Soule finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Ella Bankert played a strong defensive game and contributed 8 points.  Both of these players will be representing Kimball Union at the NEPSAC All-Star Game to be played tomorrow morning at Noble & Greenough School in Dedham, MA.

Many thanks to this hard-working team, especially our three incredible senior tri-captains (Miranda, Kayleigh and Kate), for taking us on such an amazing journey.  KUA finishes the season with a 20-5 record and memories to last a lifetime. Way to go, Wildcats!
