After an emotional Senior Day celebration, the Wildcats went to battle against a talented squad from Governors Academy. Govs came out strong building a 6-point lead before KUA settled down. KUA shot 0-for-7 to start the game but then went a perfect 8-for-8 to turn the tables and build an 18-8 advantage. Governors came storming back, however, to cut the lead to 4 (24-20) with 5 ticks left on the clock. KUA's Ella Bankert went coast to coast and converted a 3-point play to build a 27-20 before the buzzer sounded. Christina Ryan finished the half with 10 points, including two three-pointers.
Taylor Soule scored all of her 15 points in the second half while Miranda Judd was a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line down the stretch to secure the win. Ryan finished with 15 points/4 boards while Judd chipped in with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Ella Bankert did a nice job of handling the defensive pressure of the visitors while netting 7 points and nabbing 6 steals
Other highlights include a timely three-pointer from Catherine Beaupre, a 3-point play from Kate Fowler and an assist and big rebound from Sarah Heiskell-Mann.
KUA wraps up the regular-season with a 19-4 record and has earned the #1 seed in the NEPSAC Class C tournament. The Wildcats will host 8th-seeded Miss Hall's School on Wednesday, March 2nd at 4p.m.
