KUA GVBB went on a 21-1 run to break a 20-20 tie at Brewster today. The Wildcats were slow to get going and only built a 6-point lead at the half, 18-12. The Bobcats came out on fire and rattled off 9 quick points to knot the score at 20. KUA made a defensive adjustment and ratcheted up their intensity and held Brewster to just one point for the remainder of the game.
Miranda Judd was effective driving the lane in the first half causing many players on the host team to get into foul trouble early on. Kate Fowler played excellent defense breaking up fast break attempts and grabbing several key rebounds (10) while Anna Parker played substantial minutes and was effective feeding the post.
Two Wildcats reached double-figures in today's contest. Taylor Soule had a double-double with 24 points and 21 rebounds while Christina Ryan chipped in with 13 points, including two buckets from downtown.
KUA improves to 14-4 and has two more road contests this week. The Wildcats will travel to St. Paul's on Friday afternoon and to Groton School on Saturday.
