KUA holds off Proctor on a Valmon bucket with 5 seconds to play

The KUA Boys basketball team notched their 14th win of the season today by besting Lakes Region rival Proctor Academy 62-60 on a Travis Valmon bucket with five seconds to play. KUA got off to a quick start in the game, hitting 9 out of 17 from beyond the arc in the first half to take a 37-26 lead. Proctor battled back in the second half to tie the game 52-52 with 4 minutes to play. A driving lay-up by Proctor's Geo Baker again tied the game, 60-60 with 25 seconds to play only to see Valmon finish strong to the basket for the final tally of the night to put KUA into the win column. Balanced scoring from KUA tonight was lead by a strong performance from Garrett Turner with 13 points followed closely by Travis Valmon with 12pts, Nate Knight with 11 and Cooper Williams with 9pts. KUA returns to action on Saturday as they travel down to Worcester Academy.
