Bankert Burns the Nets in a 59-47 Victory over NMH
The Wildcats were workhorses in today's battle with Class A Northfield Mount Hermon. The action was back and forth through the first 16 minutes. Strong team defense by KUA helped them build a slight lead, 28-22, at the half. Ella Bankert and Christina Ryan burried two three-pointers apiece in the first half.
The Wildcats really heated up in the second stanza. Bankert hit back-to-back-to-back treys to give KUA a 20 point lead with just under 7 minutes in the game. NMH gave a final push and cut the lead to 12, but with time ticking away the Hoggers were forced to foul putting KUA on the charity stripe. Bankert knocked down 5 free throws in a row in the closing minutes to bring her total points to 23 on the day paired with 6 assists, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 drawn charges.
Christina Ryan finished with 16 points, 6 assists, 3 boards and 4 steals while Taylor Soule had a double-double with 12 points/10 rebounds for the 10-3 Wildcats.
