Wildcats Sweep Hornets

The Wildcats bounced back from Saturday's tough loss with a hard fought 58-43 victory over Proctor Academy today in Alumni Gymnasium. In just their second home game this season, KUA spotted the visitors a 9-2 lead before settling down and tying the game 9-9. Tough defense allowed the Cats to eventually build a double digit lead, but the always competitive Hornets would not go away and cut the lead to 4 (23-19) just before halftime.

Hot shooting, solid rebounding and defensive intensity helped KUA's lead once again swell to double-digits in the second stanza. Three players netted double-figures for KUA. Ella Bankert scored all 14 of her points in the final 16 minutss while Christina Ryan chipped in with 10 of her own. Taylor Soule led all scorers with 22 points and Miranda Judd contributed two clutch three-pointers. Kate Fowler was a huge defensive presence in the paint while Anna Parker was the x-factor for the now 6-2 Wildcats.
