KUA survives a second half run by Lawrence to win 65-54.
KUA Boys basketball returned to action today in Meriden, beating Lawrence Academy 65-54. KUA jumped out to a 22 point lead in the first half hitting 7/14 from beyond the arc. while Lawrence struggled to find their rhythm. The second half was another story. Lawrence had a 6-0 start to cut KUA's lead to 11 and then gradually chipped away until they took a two point lead, 49-47 with 8 minutes left in the game. KUA buckled down defensively and hit their freethrows at the end, (11-14 in the second half), to win by 11, 65-54. Garrett Turner lead all scorers with 20 points for the night, Travis Valmon (14pts) and Ross Gerber (11pts) joined him in double figures. KUA pushes their record to 10-1 for the season with important Class AA games on the horizon. KUA travels down to Cheshire Academy on Saturday.
