KUA Wins at Home

KUA burst out of gates building a 23-7 lead in Alumni Gymnasium. before a determined Exeter squad came storming back.  Exeter's Peace Kabari netted 7 consecutive points before Kayleigh Coombs (Claremont, NH) and Taylor Soule (Lebanon, NH) finally broke the Wildcat drought with back-to-back hoops. Kimball Union headed to the locker room with a slim 27-24 lead.

Although KUA never trailed in the game, Exeter kept things interesting trailing 31-30 with 11:30 to play.  Hana Caloras (Springfield, VT) stepped up and knocked down a big 3 while Miranda Judd (Lebanon, NH) and Ella Bankert (Cutingsville, VT) attacked the paint and took care of business at the free throw line to give KUA a 6-point advantage with just over 6 minutes to play. Strong team defense down the stretch led by Kate Fowler (Whitesboro, NY) held the vistors at bay and KUA escaped with a 9-point victory.

Bankert finished with a team-high 15 points while Soule notched her second double-double in as many games (11 points/14 rebounds).  Also chipping in with a double-double was Judd with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

KUA improves to 2-0 and will travel to West Hartford, CT to participate in the Kingswood-Oxford Invitational Tournament on December 18-20.
