KUA winners a thriller in OT, 55-53

Kimball Union secures a stirring victory over highly regarded Blair Academy 55-53 in overtime. The Wildcats got a defensive stop on the first possession of the extra period and Travis Valmon promptly hit a three point shot to give KUA a lead they would not relinquish.

 

In a close contest throughout, KUA and Blair were tied at 26 at the half. The Wildcats held a slim lead throughout the second half before Blair rallied late. 6-6 free-throw shooting down the stretch was key to victory. Nathan Knight had 12 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks to lead the Wildcat charge. Luke Rosinski (11), Ross Gerber (11), and Spencer Cline (10) were also in double figures.

 

The game was part of the Scholar-Roundball Classic held on the campus of Babson College. KUA is now 4-1 on the season.
