Boys JV Lacrosse defeat Cardigan Mountain 7-5

Coach Sheehan
Under threatening sky and in bustling winds, the #watchbros returned to their ancestral fields of Brewster to take on the young and vigorous foes from Mount Cardigan. Both sides opened the battle with loose phalanxes, defenders in scattered lines and attackers in amoebic forms. Le Beaupre, Keeper of the Hounds, struck first when he caught the Mount's net minder out of position and slotted home with a pinpoint attack. The Mount responded well with near miss after near miss before earning their first notch. Awakened as if from slumber, the #watchbros responded brilliantly with Shappy, the Sultan of Swag and le Beaupre gaining the gauge of the battle back in stylish fashion. As the battle raged and the skies spit sun fire and sleet, alternately, two young members of the watch took full grip of the battle with chaliced hands. L'Heureux the Younger, under the watchful eyes of the Elder, transitioned through the ranks with speed and grace, striking twice and in exciting fashion to keep the #watchbros in front. In the center of the battle, Mattieu "Ice" Burg from the small and coastal town of Caliswag earned the #black with his efforts repelling foes of the Mount and dishing the finest, freshest apples to his cohorts. The other youth to earn his #black was Yacobim Weissbitter he was tremendous across the field of battle.  #watchbro veteran Lee "Of the Wind" Cogan added his own tremendous strike, as did the Pike, who returned to the front lines after a week of R & R on the coast. Finally, the #watchbros pay homage to the returning Alexander the Slate, who repelled strike after strike from soldiers of the mount, notching his saves one by one. The #watchbro celebration shall be brief, as they prepare for perennial nemesis Holder of Ness in the coming week.
