Boys JV Lacrosse Lose Opener at Brewster

#sheehan
When the winds shifted--before, they rushed from the southeast--and brought tidings of change from the north, the #watchbros of the Union of Daniel Kimball rose from a slumber of twenty fortnights to sharpen their crosses, feed their livestock, polish their tilted and worn helmets and cleanse their eyes of the dew of inactivity. Winters may last an eternity in the wilds of New England, this one very nearly did. Though a cutting breeze ruffled their flowing locks of #lettuce and piles of mottled snow and fields of browned grass met them as they marched toward the distant ville of Wolfboro on the shores of one of the ancient lakes of the east, the #watchbros noted the gaining slant of the sun, the calls of the returning birds and the burbling brooks that burbled like youth after much too much sugar and oats. As the the #watchbros arrived in the light shimmering off the great and ancient lake and stepped to meet the formidable forces of the Academy of Brewster, it was the front line of attack doing the most immediate damage. Before the first episode had ended, young and wily Shappy of Shapiro took a thoughtful pass from El Greco to tie the battle with the veteran lieutenant Isaacson slotting home a feed from Jake the Pike. The Daniel Kimball #watchbros were then held at bay until the third episode when the Pike found the enemy net twice and Shappy, "the swaggy wonder," slotted home with what many in the villages are putting into song as a moment of heroic greatness. Shappy and Isaacson had beautiful apples in the episode, but it was Isaacson who took an inspired feed from the newly committed #watchbro Mearlendersonson and found the target to send the game into the final episode all even. Before the battle had concluded, the Pike sent an arrow of a shot true into the upper corner of the target, but the #watchbros came up a slight bit shy on the day. El Greco and the nobleman Conrad le Beaupre helped control the pace of the battle, earning marks of valor with poised shots on target and balls collected from the mire. On the back lines, Samuel "Please, I still don't want you to call me Tarley" of Milender and Savage Sawyer helped protect the old junior #watchbro GOAT netminder, roused from retirement at the promise of tow (or three.... or four....) final battles, Sir Jonas Butler, who himself had a battle for the ages. Despite the setback, their ranks are swelling, and their time is near in sight. The #watchbros will proceed forward, as with the spring, and meet the Irish of Dublin on 8 April of this new season.
