Hard Fought Final Game

In the chilly November weather, the Wildcats faced the Governor’s Red Dogs. The Red Dogs pressured the Wildcat defense but the team kept the ball contained and continued to force it wide throughout the first half. Freshman Coreen Carley (Brentwood, NH) played an excellent game anticipating passes and cutting off the ball. With just four minutes remaining in the first half, Governor’s scored with a high shot on net. They scored again with 30 seconds to play in the half to put the Red Dogs up two at the half. In the second half, the Wildcats worked the ball wide and down the field with senior captain Maya Karosas (Stowe, VT), junior Kelsey Pollard (Meriden, NH) and junior Miranda Judd (Lebanon, NH). Sophomore Anna Parker (Lebanon, NH) swung the ball to the left side as well while freshman Mia Brown (Woodstock, VT), sophomore Annie McKeown (Longmeadow, MA) and senior captain Erika Madrian (Wellesley, MA) carried the ball down the left side. The Red Dogs scored 2 more goals but the Wildcats did not give up. With just 2 minutes on the clock, Brown scored off of a corner set up by Pollard to Karosas and Judd. One minute later, Pollard scored off of a shot by Karosas.
Brown, Pollard and McKeown raced down the field with the ball in attempt to score one more goal as time ran out.
Senior Morgan Sebor (Concord, NH) played a fantastic game in net with 10 saves. She kept the team in the game during the first half saving some big shots early on and denied a goal during many one-up situations. The Wildcats had a great season and thank parents and fans for all of the support.
