The Wildcats Lose to the Bulls

Possession went back and forth for the first 25 minutes of the first half.  Phoebe Day scored two goals for Holderness within two minutes of each other with 4 minutes left to play.  The Wildcats could have finished the half down two but they continued to fight back.  Freshman Mia Brown (Woodstock, VT) scored 30 seconds later off of a pass from junior Kelsey Pollard (Meriden, NH) and junior Miranda Judd (Lebanon, NH).  Once the second half started, the Wildcats had gained the momentum; they continuously brought the ball down the field with crisp one-touch passes.  Brown scored again off of a full team effort down the field.  Senior Maya Karosas (Stowe, VT), Pollard, Judd and freshman Taylor Dudek (Auburn, NH) supported ball into the circle.  Forward Madison Gesner (West Newton, CT) also played a role in the control of the ball in the circle before Brown found the back of the net.

The game stayed tied at 2-2 for majority of the second half.  The Wildcats continued to create scoring opportunities.  The ball crossed the cage, was shot wide, and even hit the post but never crossed the goal line.  Holderness player, Lillian Vittum redirected a shot from the outside with five minutes to play to bring the Bulls back into the lead.  The Wildcats continued to play offensively until the horn blew but could not get the goal.

Sophomore Sofia DiAntonio (Cornish, NH) played an outstanding game in goal with 9 saves.  Sophomore Liz Colannino (Old Town, ME) and sophomore Lexi Nottke (Reading, MA) played a strong game on defense.
