The Kimball Union Wildcats hosted the Proctor Hornets today on Pope Field. Within four minutes of the game, the hornets carried the ball into their offensive zone and slipped the ball into the goal past the Wildcat defense. They scored two more unanswered goals in the first half.
In the second half, the Wildcats became much more offensive. Senior Maya Karosas, junior Kelsey Pollard and junior Miranda Judd worked well together with give and go passes down the field. Defensively, the team stepped up to the ball and sophomore Sofia DiAntonio played a strong game in goal. Sophomore Lexi Nottke, freshman Mia Brown and freshman Madison Gesner anticipated each other’s movements and gave great leading passes. Pollard scored 14 minutes into the second half, assisted by Gesner and Brown. The Hornets rounded out the scoring with a final goal with two minutes to play.
The Wildcats host the Holderness Bulls on Friday at 2:00 on Pope.
