The Kimball Union Wildcats challenged the Northfield Mount Hermon Hogs today on Pope Field. Courtney Moriarty, of NMH, scored early less than three minutes into the game followed by a goal from Elizabeth Walsh and another from Moriarty to end the half 3-0 Hogs.
The Wildcats did not let up and adjusted their game to support the backfield while continuing to push the ball up to their offensive end. Moriarty scored the Hogs fourth and final goal just five minutes into the second half but the Wildcats continued to carry the ball down the field and create scoring opportunities in their offensive circle. Senior captain Maya Korasas, junior Kelsey Pollard and junior Miranda Judd worked hard to bring the ball down the right side of the field while freshman Mia Brown, junior Kylie Shields and freshman Madison Gesner played a smart game on the left side. With 14 minutes left to play, Brown redirected a shot from Judd to score the Wildcats’ lone goal.
Senior Morgan Sebor had 3 saves in net while sophomore Sofia DiAntonio also played a strategic game in goal second half.
The Wildcats are back in action on Saturday September 27th at Tilton School at 2:00.
