KUA had to come from behind to pull out a victory today against Kent’s Hill. The 1st period was a scoreless draw, but Kent’s Hill struck early in the 2nd to take the lead. KUA tied the game at 1-1 when Caroline McNair (Sr.) rushed the puck deep into the Kent’s Hill zone and sprung Julia Surgenor (Fr.) free across the slot where she scored on the short-side. Kent’s Hill answered a few minutes later to regain the lead on a point shot that found its way through crowd. KUA came out with a great start to the 3rd as Angela Augusta (Jr.) made a nice chip off the wall for Aurora Braswell (Jr.) and Braswell’s centering attempt took a fortunate bounce in off of a Kent’s Hill defender. Midway through the 3rd period, it was Lindsey Landwehrle (Sr.) who scored on a high wrister to give the girls their first lead of the game. The goal was assisted by Izzy Hill (Fr.) and it would prove to be the game winner.
KUA returns to action Sat., Feb. 1 with a 5:00pm road game at Brewster Academy.
