Freshmen Hill and Surgenor Propel KUA to OT Victory

KUA finished off a winning weekend with a thrilling OT Win vs. Berwick Academy. The 1st period was a draw as both teams had their chances but neither found the back of the net. KUA finally got on the board in the 2nd period when Fr. Izzy Hill scored her first goal as a Wildcat. The goal came on the power play with assists from Jr. Angela Augusta and Sr. Christine Bouchat-Bonin. The score remained 1-0 until far into the 3rd period when KUA ran into penalty problems and Berwick scored the equalizer at the tail end of a 5 on 3 power play. However, the girls showed great resilience and pushed back hard to earn a power play late in the 3rd that would extend into overtime. In OT, Jr. Aurora Braswell pushed the puck on net and Sr. Hannah Madden made a great heads up play to feed Fr. Julia Surgenor on the back door for the game winning goal. KUA returns to action Wed., Jan. 22 with a 4:30pm home game vs. Holderness.
