KUA 1-0 Victors Over Northfield Mount Hermon
KUA Starts Strong With 1-0 Victory Over NMH
KUA grabbed a 1-0 victory over Northfield Mount Hermon today in their first league game of the 2013-2014 season. NMH came out strong, but Sr. Amelie Poirier was up to the task and turned away all shots in the 1st period. Jr. Joanna Schafer got KUA on the board with a great shot from the half wall on the power play.
KUA pushed back offensively in the 2nd, but could not increase their lead. After some solid penalty killing late in the period, the score remained 1-0 heading into the third. Many blocked shots later, the girls managed to hold off an NMH offensive push and get the win. Congrats to Amelie Poirier for her first shutout of the year!
The next game for KUA is Friday, December 13 at 4:30pm when the girls host Proctor at Akerstrom Arena.
