KUA Comes Up Short In Defensive Battle vs. Rice AAA
KUA Unable to Solve Rice Goaltending in Final Exhibition Game of Pre-Season
The KUA Girls put forth another strong defensive effort, but could not find the equalizer in a 0-1 loss versus Rice AAA. Once again, senior Amelie Poirier was strong in net seeing lots of action in the opening frame. Rice scored the game winner in the form of a first period power play goal. Junior Halle Murray handled the second half of the game with a strong performance in her first action of the season. KUA tightened up defensively in the final two periods and pushed hard to tie things up. Unfortunately, despite a gritty performance, the Girls could not solve the Rice defense.
The next game for KUA is Wednesday, December 11 at 4:30pm when they host NMH at Akerstrom Arena.
