The Kimball Union Wildcats traveled to Ashburnham, MA to the play the Cushing Penguins in their final game of the season this past Saturday.  The Wildcats had a little trouble adjusting to the speed of the turf and Cushing’s big ball game.  The Penguins scored off of a breakaway down the right side of the field.  Sophomore Kayleigh Coombs (Claremont, NH) came from the opposite side of the field to try to stop the ball but the lone shot was scored.
Junior Maya Karosas (Stowe, VT), senior captain Hannah Madden (Manchester, NH) and sophomore Kelsey Pollard (Meriden, NH) did their best to bring the ball down the field on the left and the right but the Penguins did a nice job getting the ball back.  Each player managed to get a shot off but they could not find the back of the net.  Senior Storm Sideleau (Contoocook, NH) and sophomore Miranda Judd (Lebanon, NH) supported the forward line well and played as the first line of defense.  Senior captain Alison Pollard (Meriden, NH) stepped to ball well in the center mid position, senior captain Justine Rouleau (Sunapee, NH) and Caitlyn Lowe (Woodstock, VT) adjusted well to the left mid position and right mid positions respectively.  Sophomore Kylie Shields (New Castle, NH) played a strong game off the bench and freshman Anna Parker (Lebanon, NH) played her best game yet as left defender.  Senior Alana Corrado (Winchester, MA) finished with 2 saves in goal.
The Kimball Union Wildcats lost 0 to 1 and finished their season 9-7-1.
