For the second time this season, the Kimball Union field hockey team faced the Vermont Academy Wildcats today. VA took hold of the ball at the beginning of the game and brought it down to their offensive circle. It took the KUA Wildcats a second to react but they soon began stepping up to ball and playing a strong possession game. The first goal of the came off of a well executed corner. Senior Storm Sideleau (Contoocook, NH) took a shot at the top of the circle and senior captain Alison Pollard (Meriden, NH) scored off the rebound, her first goal in her high school career! Seven minutes later, senior captain Hannah Madden (Manchester, NH) took a shot off of a corner and junior Maya Karosas (Stowe, VT) redirected it into the net. In the second half, Karosas scored again, this time unassisted. With four minutes to play, sophomore Kylie Shields (new Castle, NH) was able to push the ball over the line of a pass from Madden to make the final score 4-0. Senior Alana Corrado (Winchester, MA) earned her third shutout of the season. The KU Wildcats host the Hebron Lumberjacks on Saturday October 26th on Pope Field.
