KUA defeats Tilton in OT, 10-9

Down 9-6 with less than 4 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, KUA stormed back, first with two goals from Mike Robertello and then the tying score from Eric Megnia with 19 seconds remaining on the clock. On their second possession in overtime, Robertello dodged to his right, turned and fed PJ Tessier in the high crease, who  fired home the game winning shot.  The game was a series of highs and lows for the Wildcats. Off the bus, the Wildcats jumped on the Rams, scoring quick and often. At the end of the first quarter, KUA led 5-1, and then 6-3 at the half. The lead would erode, however, in the third quarter as Tilton won face-offs and groundballs giving them key possessions and chances to score. Tilton tied the score 6-6 two minutes into the 4th quarter, and then continued to extend their lead. Colman Lamb won key face-offs, however, in the final three minutes as the Wildcats clawed their way back into the game. Teagan Burnham played solid defense in the fourth quarter to help stabilize the Wildcat defense, and PJ Tessier, Cam Beecy, Owen Winslow, and Jacob Paluch hustled and persevered in the midfield, even as the prospects of a comeback dimmed.  Santiago Morales made acrobatic saves to keep the Wildcats in striking distance, and then the KUA offense found their stride and aim to pull out the victory.
