Playing at a neutral site, the Wildcats fell 7-2 against Pomfret. KUA netted the first two goals and held a 2-0 lead going into the half. Eric Megnia scored the first goal and Andrew Jarrett sniped the second. KUA was solid on defense in the first half. Defensive midfielders Cam Beecy and Jacob Paluch joined with long poles Mike Powell and Hunter Braswell to shut down the Pomfret midfield. KUA’s close D-poles, Matt Michaud, Trey McDougall, and Chris Anderson, gave up little space and time to the attack. And in goal, Santiago Morales came up with a number of saves on outside and inside shots. The lead, however, withered away in the second half. KUA hit a few pipes and were not able to get their third goal and any subsequent momentum, before Pomfret started their own scoring surge. The score was 4-2 going into the 4the quarter, but penalties and costly turnovers limited the Wildcats ball possessions.
KUA (0-2) continues their season Wednesday on the road at Williston.
