KUA (#2) was firing on all cylinders today in a 73-32 victory over St. Luke’s School (#7) in a quarter-final game of the New England Prep School Basketball Tournament held in Deerfield, MA. Senior co-captain Fiekah Fataar got things started early scoring the first 5 points of the ball game while strong defense by Becca DeTurk, Gretchen Schissel and Kaitie Sanders held St. Luke’s at bay throughout the half, giving KUA a 20-point cushion at the break.

Buoyed by their fans, KUA continued to play hard in the final 16 minutes, moving the ball on offense and controlling the boards on both ends.  Jill Clark ‘15 had a banner day knocking down 5 threes and adding a lay-up for a season-high 17 points.  Gretchen Schissel also connected from downtown while Kaitie Sanders and Shannon Walsh chipped in with 11 and 10 points respectively. Fataar led all scorers with 18 hard-earned points and 16 boards.

Alicia Malagon ‘15 was a sparkplug down the stretch grabbing rebounds and scoring a free throw while Chloe Tyler ‘15 dished some nice assists and scored 5 points on the afternoon.

KUA will host the winner of Proctor/Berwick on Friday at a time to be determined.  Go Wildcats!
