The Girls JV Hockey Team travelled to Holderness for their last game of the season. The Wildcats scored first when Storm Sideleau carried the puck through the Holderness defenders and scored on a shot from deep in the offensive zone. Holderness answered quickly tying the score, and then going ahead by one before the end of the period. In the second period, the Wildcats started strong again with veteran Katie Dole and Freshman Morgan Sebor connecting for a beautiful goal. As Dole held the puck behind the net, Sebor attacked from the wing, collected the pass, and buried it to tie the game at two. Anna Hadlock was fabulous in goal for KUA. She kept the Wildcats in the game by shutting down Holderness on multiple breakaways and finding ways to freeze the puck when we needed a line change. Nonetheless, Holderness continued to put on the pressure. By the end of the second period, they were up four to two. In the third period, KUA came out fighting, and generated several good chances in the offensive zone. Sideleau single-handedly created a breakaway for herself when she beat three Holderness players. Her shot looked like it would find all net, but the goalie robbed her with a beautiful glove save. While the loss was disappointing, the Wildcats played hard to the very end and have much to be proud of. It has been an excellent, and fun-filled season. The girls have made tremendous progress both individually and as a team, and they have made this season the most successful one so far for Girls JV Hockey at KUA!
