In tonight's Kimball Union mens varsity hockey game the number two ranked Wildcats defeated Andover Academy, 4-2. In a tightly fought contest which saw a great pace coupled with hard hitting the Wildcats were able to bear down, emerge, and improve to 20-2-2. Nick Roberto '13 got the scoring started in the first period as he took a puck of the boards and buried it short side. In the second period the Wildcats took a two goal lead on goals by Alex Carle '13 and Jonathan Charbonneau '13. Carles goal came on the power play as the defenseman took a one timer that beat the Andover goalie high. Charbonneau's goal was the byproduct of hard work. Pinning the defense back Casey Miller '13 slid a nice pass in front to Charbonneau who was able to beat the goalie low. In the third Andover came out flying and both teams exchanged chances. With Andover pulling within a goal the Wildcats woke up and controlled the play for the better half of the third period. With under two minutes left Jordan Babb '13, who played great all night was able to drive the net and give the Wildcats a 4-2 lead. With the goalie pulled, KUA goalie Ryan Lund '13 made a few outstanding saves and picked up the win in net. The Wildcats are back in action Friday as they play New Hampton.
