The Wildcats hosted the New Hampton Huskies today on Pope Field. Both teams looked forward to the game after tying their first match up a week and a half ago. Shannon Sebor (Haverhill, NH), Katey Spanos (Newport, NH), Maya Karosas (Stowe, VT) and Storm Sidelou (Contoocook, NH) worked give-and-gos and through passes. Maura Doyle (Merrimack, MA) played a great game in the center of the field controlling the flow of the game. The game was scoreless with three minutes left in the second half. The ball game from deep in the offensive zone, Doyle and Karosas gave a give-and-go in the center of the field and hit it up to Hailey Hart (Newton, MA) who received on the left side. Spanos sprinted up the field to support Hart as she headed to goal. Hart shot the ball at the top of the circle to score with 2:40 left on the clock. The Wildcats earned 4 corners to the Huskies 1 and Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA) had 5 saves in the net.
The Wildcats host Holderness on Saturday on Pope Field at 2:30.
