The Wildcats Lose to the Hebron Academy Lumberjacks
The Kimball Union Academy Wildcats hosted the Hebron Academy Lumberjacks today on Pope Field for a close match. The Wildcats worked to get into a rhythm while the Lumberjacks worked the ball down the field with a strong possession game. Hebron scored the lone goal half way through the first half off of a corner, the ball was passed to many offensive players and Hannah Hearn pushed the ball into the net. The Wildcats did not let down and played a smart game of field hockey. Maya Karosas (Stowe, VT), Katey Spanos (Newport, NH), Maura Doyle (Merrimack, MA), and Leah Cole Durst (Cornish, NH) played a strong offensive game. Although they had their opportunities, they could not score after 9 corners and many shots on goal. Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA) had 3 saves in the net.
The Wildcats host New Hampton on Wednesday on Pope Field.
