Despite a one hour delay due to thunder, the boys’ varsity lacrosse team kept their focus en route to a 13-4 defeat of Vermont Academy. The game, originally scheduled to be played at Vermont, was moved to KUA’s Pope Field due to recent and predicted heavy rains. KUA jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Seven Wildcats contributed to the flurry of goals led by CJ Frates with four goals and three assists. Chris Morse netted two goals and assisted on two others. Max Abendroth scored one and assisted on two while Drew Simmoneau and Ian Timpone each scored two and assisted on one. Eric Wollrath scored one and assisted on another and Connor Barrett accounted for the final Wildcat goal.
Riley Alderman, Mike Powell, Ryan Lund, Tommy O’brien and Zabarle Kollie all helped out at middie defense and Spencer King and Patrick Lynch shared the duties at long pole defense.
KUA (5-9) finishes its season Wednesday against Tabor Academy with a neutral site game at Exeter Academy.
