KUA flat in 14-2 loss against NMH

er
KUA’s offense, on fire just 3 days ago, stalled early and remained flat en route to a 14-2 defeat against NMH. Playing on the road again, KUA’s early chances to gain momentum were stymied by the NMH goalie on several point blank opportunities. Ian Timpone managed to thread a feed to Max Abendroth for a first quarter goal to get  the visitors on the board.  At the other end of the field, the NMH attack found their mark early and played a very methodical, organized game of possession with successful forays to the goal.  At the half, NMH led 7-1 and then 10-2 going into the 4th quarter.  KUA’s second goal, a feed in tight from Abendroth to Timpone, came early in the third quarter.

KUA’s defense could not stop the NMH offense in 6v6 in the first quarter. After a few adjustments, defensemen Connor Bailey, Miles Hancock, Andrew Kelly, and Patrick Lynch were much more effective at denying their men access to the cage. Most of the NMH goals from the 1st quarter forward came in unsettled and extra man situations.  Spencer King was effective in the midfield with his long pole scooping up 5 ground balls and forcing turnovers with precision checks throughout the game.  Tim McNair stopped 7 shots in net  for the Wildcats.

KUA (3-6) starts a 3 game home series against Exeter on Wednesday on Pope Field.
