Playing on the road, the Wildcats traded leads three times with Cushing Academy only to come out on the short end at the final whistle. KUA played aggressive, high tempo lacrosse throughout the entire game, managing over 24 shots on the Cushing cage. Eric Wollrath (Groton, MA) led the attack with four goals and two assist, while senior midfielder Chris Morse (Hanover, MA)  found the mark three times and fed for one assist.  CJ Frates (Woodstock, VT) and Drew Simoneau (Manchester, NH) scored the other two Wildcat goals. It was a complete team effort, from start to finish. Sophomores Mike Powell (Ridgewood, NJ) and Ryan Lund (Anchorage, AK) joined by Seniors Tommy O’brien (Hingham, MA) and Conor Bailey (Sherborn, MA) ran the wings on face-offs and played stalwart defense in the midfield.  Three year Senior Sam Wyskiel (Dover, NH) was a constant force at both ends in the midfield as was Dennis Kravchenko (San Clemente, CA), especially on the clears and open field transitions.  On defense, the Wildcats’ Senior defensive trio of Miles Hancock (New Rochelle, NY), Steve Swartz (Woodstock, VT) and Andrew Kelley (Sudbury, MA) allowed zero dodging goals at their end and cleared well in transition. Freshman Brad Kimball (Hamilton, MA) contributed valuable minutes with the long pole throughout the contest.  Goalies Tim McNair (Wilmette, IL) and Santiago Morales (San Jeronimo, Mexico) split the game and combined for 18 saves.
KUA’s (1-2) season continues when they face off Wednesday at 5pm at home against Lakes Region League rival New Hampton.
