KUA squeaks out a victory 62-61

KUA Boys Basketball team hosted Lakes Region and Class AA rival Vermont Academy today and came out on top in a thrilling one point victory 62-61 as Vermont’s Conor Merrill’s long distance short rimmed out. KUA survived a second half offensive outburst by Vermont’s Keron Deshields who hit four threes and scored 22 of his game high 26 points in the half.  KUA’s Ryan Daye had an outstanding performance in his own right, scoring  14 second half points adding to his 7-8 from the line and a total of 23 points for the night.  Dan Brooks had 12 and Waylan Siverand added 11 for KUA. Jonny Bunyan and Rick Naylor each hit critical threes down the stretch to help KUA maintain their slim lead. Today’s  win moves KUA’s record to 14-11 as they finish up the regular season on Saturday at 1pm vs St Andrews.
