Cats Come to Compete!

The Kimball Union Lady Wildcats improved to 11-4 on the season with a 62-41 victory over Class A Northfield Mount Hermon.  This victory avenged a one-point loss to the Hoggers just 2 weeks ago.  Sophomore Rebecca DeTurk  (Hartland, VT) turned up the defensive pressure on NMH’s top scorers while contributing 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists and 2 points.  Four different players hit double-figures for the Cats with Fiekah Fataar netting a season and game-high 22 points (8-for-11 from the floor and 6-for-8 from the free throw line) and pulling down 7 boards. Gabby Diaz had 17 points to go along with 6 assists, 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Autumn Kariuki and Bianca Brenz  chipped in 11 and 10 points respectively. Gretchen Schissel was instrumental off the bench grabbing 2 offensive boards and playing stingy defense.

KUA hosts Class B Cushing Academy (13-1) on Saturday at 3p.m.  Go Wildcats!
