Gabby Diaz '12 was red-hot from three-point land in the opening minutes of this contest keeping the game close for KUA. She had 3 treys while co-captain Bianca Brenz chipped in with one of her own. The Knights held a single digit advantage throughout the first stanza behind the strong play of point guard Alvarez who netted 13 of her game-high 23 points. KUA had an opportunity to cut the lead to 3 as time ran out, but the Cats could not convert and headed into the locker room down 29-24. KUA got in the hole early in the second half as turnovers (23 total) plagued the visiting Wildcats. The Knights took a double-digit lead and the Cats could not get any closer - final score 56-42.
Diaz was the only player in double digits for Kimball Union netting 17 points. Brenz finished with 8 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists. Rafeegah Fataar also chipped in with 8 points and 4 boards. Juniors Abbey Hybl and Emily Kelly gave strong defensive efforts.
