Cats Win on the Road

The Lady Wildcats shot 58% from the floor (26/44) and received balanced scoring helping themselves to a 65-38 road win over proctor Academy.  Autumn Kariuki scored 12 of her 14 points in the first half giving KUA a 9-point cushion at the half.  The black and orange came out determined to win the battle of the boards and to play with more intensity after the intermission and they did just that.  The hot-shooting continued as the Wildcats went on a 8-0 run to start the second half and KUA grabbed a much improved 9 offensive boards in the final 16 minutes.  Katey Spanos (7-for-10 from the FT line) and Fiekah Fataar had some nice drives to the hoop while Gabby Diaz started heating up from long distance.  Spanos, Diaz and Kariuki finished with 14 points apiece while Fataar (5 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists) and Rebecca DeTurk chipped in with 9 and 8 points respectively.  Kariuki led the way in rebounds with 9 while Diaz dished out a team high 5 assists.

Emily Kelly had 2 huge blocks and sophomore Gretchen Schissel had a steal and a break-away lay-up to end the game.
