KUA takes a 6-4 record into the holiday break with a 71-49 victory over Westminster School

KUA Boys Basketball won their second game in a row to finish up the Southall Basketball tournament  at Loomis going 2-1 with a sound victory over Westminster School 71-49.   KUA jumped to an early 10 point lead but Westminster fought back to make the game close at the half with KUA holding a 6 point lead 31-25.  KUA’s Ryan Daye again had the hot hand, scoring 16 of his game high 26 points in the first half.  As they did in their previous game, KUA stepped up their defensive pressure at the start of the second half going on an 8-0 run to increase their margin into double digits.  Lead by Rick Naylor’s perimeter shooting prowess going 4 for 4 for 12 points,  KUA went 8-10 from beyond the arc in the second half to put the game out of reach.  Dan Brooks made a solid contribution on offense as well with 10 points.  Over the three game tournament two KUA players stood out for their offensive performances; Ryan Daye average 19 pts per game and Jonny Bunyan went 10-14 from three point range.  KUA’s team defense is also starting to gel as they held their opponents below 50 points in each of the three games.  KUA Boys take a 6-4 record into the holiday break and will not return to action until Jan 8th.
