The girl’s hockey team travelled down to NMH on Wednesday.  The Wildcats were determined to get their first win of the season.  The first period was a bit inconsistent for the Wildcats as there were a number of turnovers.  In the first period Michaela Igo was able to snipe a goal off the crossbar off of an assist from Mary Donovan and Margaret Zonay.   Unfortunately, NMH struck back and at the end of the period to make the score 1-1.  The Wildcats quickly struck back in the second off of a goal from Kellie Joyce with an assist going to Michaela Igo.  NMH countered again to make the score 2-2.  With a few minutes left in the second Morgan Walsh was able to drive home her first goal of her KUA career five hole off of a nice set up by Shannon Sebor and Mary Donovan.  At the end of the second the score was 3-2 in favor of KUA.  KUA came out flying in the third and out shot the Lady Hoggers 10-3.  KUA quickly answered with a goal by Shannon Sebor off of a nice pass from Kellie Joyce.  The Wildcats finished their scoring with a goal by Kellie Joyce with an assist going to Mary Donovan.  Biz Futrell started in goal for the Wildcats and had solid debut as she made 15 saves on the day.  Caro Longpre received player of the game honors for hard work and focus defensively for the Wildcats.  KUA returns to action Friday night as they take on Lakes Region rival Proctor Academy.
