On Saturday the KUA Wildcats took on NH rival St. Paul’s school.  The game proved to be an intense back and forth battle that was played mostly in special teams.  The first period was a well-matched battle with the shots being slightly in favor of KUA 7-6.  In the second period St. Paul’s struck first with a goal off of a deflection.  However, the Wildcats quickly responded with a goal by Kellie Joyce with an assist going to Michaela Igo.  St. Paul’s responded again and made the score 2-1 in favor of St. Paul’s at the end of the second.  KUA came out in the third period determined to outwork the St Paul’s Pelicans.  Michaela Igo at the 12:30 mark was able to take the puck from the corner and beat the goalie on the far post.  St. Paul’s responded yet again and took a 3-2 lead at the 7:14 mark.  KUA was not going to watch this game slip away; they quickly responded with an offensive flurry.  A quick fast break by Kellie Joyce and Michaela Igo ended with Mary Donovan driving home a rebound to tie the game at 3-3.  The remaining minutes of the third period as well as overtime were hard fought with both teams gaining offensive chances.  Kells Casey had 16 saves on the day for the Wildcats.  Player of the game honors went to Mary Donovan because of her feisty play.  The Wildcats will travel down to NMH on Wednesday.
