KUA faced NMH in a non-league battle.  KUA scored the day’s first two goals, the first a heads up play by Josh Rombach, his first of two goals on the afternoon, and the second, a goal by Drew Simoneau off a feed from Josh Huett. NMH came storming back and scored the next three goals to end the first quarter with a 3-2 lead. Neither team could find the net in the second quarter.  NMH struck first in late in third quarter and held a 4-2 lead until Sam Wyskiel, off a feed from Chris Morse, closed the gap back to one. NMH scored early in the fourth quarter to stretch the lead to 5-3. Morse assisted on Rombach’s second goal of the day to narrow the lead once again to 5-4. NMH scored with a little over three minutes remaining to take a 6-4 lead. With time running out and the Wildcat defense scrambling to gain possession of the ball, Wildcat defenders Tommy Harrison and Ryan Cole were able to win the ball and move it up field to midfielder Dennis Kravchenko, who then fed Simoneau for his second goal of the afternoon.  Though 17 seconds still remained on the clock, KUA could not gain possession on the ensuing faceoff and the clock expired with NMH holding on to the 6-5 victory.

KUA’s long pole defense, led by Miles Hancock, Franklin Boswell-Taylor , and Cullen Boyle were solid throughout the day. Michael Maggiore came up big with ten saves.

KUA (3-5) travels to Exeter on Wednesday to take on the Big Red.
