KUA Boys Basketball team took on Lakes region and class B rivals Proctor today in an important matchup. KUA came out on top 68-57 in a game that saw numerous lead changes in the first half with Proctor taking a 32-30 lead into the locker room. Sparked by a solid offensive performance from Leslie Smith, 24 points, 5-6 from the three point arc, and Keith Callies with 11 of his 14 points scored in the second stanza. Carlos Toussaint had a strong performance with 13 points for the night and two nifty passes to Callies in transition for easy baskets. Gus Cruz was a clear presence in the paint on both ends of the court; Din Moore went hard to the boards tonight and Pascal Mensah took a few signature charges to go along with a couple of very athletic blocks to make his presence felt. This win is a rewarding turnaround for the Wildcats who had lost earlier in the year to Proctor 82-71. This result also is a big step towards a NEPSAC post season bid for KUA. The Wildcats travel to Boston on Saturday to take on Brimmer and May School.
