Down to seven players, the Lady Wildcats banded together and controlled the tempo of today's game from start to finish. The goal was to contain Deerfield's talented center and limit her touches and the Cats were successful on both fronts. Goodman ended the game with 9 points; just 3 in the second half. Autumn Kariuki stepped up big time for KUA netting 8 consecutive points in the second half (4-for-7 for the game). The sophomore center also pulled down 6 rebounds and had 4 steals on the afternoon. Tori Agel, Gabby Diaz and Greydy Diaz combined for 20 boards as well. Gabby Diaz was very effective today controlling the offense and playing tenacious defense. She had 9 points to go along with 7 assists and 6 boards. Senior Greydy had a game-high 17 points and 4 assists while Ainsley MacDonald swished a trey, her first of the year, to give the Cats a 9-1 advantage in the early going.
With the win, KUA improves to 9-5. The team will travel to Holderness on Friday for a rematch with the Bulls and then play host to Class B Brooks School on Saturday afternoon.
